How it works - mPulse Infrared Sauna

A woman relaxing inside a wooden sauna with closed eyes and a content smile.

Our Sunlighten mPulse uses a blend of Red light, near, mid and far infrared wavelengths to gently heat your body from the inside out. Unlike a traditional sauna that heats the air around you, infrared warms your tissues directly—supporting circulation, easing muscle tension and encouraging a natural detox response at a much more comfortable temperature.

Inside the mPulse cabin, smart sensors continuously monitor heat, light and infrared output to ensure a consistent, therapeutic session tailored to your needs.
Simply settle in, breathe deeply and let the gentle infrared waves support your wellbeing.

You can even watch Netflix or play your own Spotify playlist during your session — whatever helps you unwind.

How it differs from a Traditional Sauna

Comparison chart of traditional sauna and infrared sauna. Traditional sauna heats to 150-210°F with more superficial heat, heat-induced sweat, high humidity, and requires more power. Infrared sauna heats to 110-140°F with deep penetrating heat, infrared light-induced sweat, lower power, and no humidity.

Infrared saunas feel different to the hot, steamy heat most people are used to. Here’s what sets them apart:

  • Lower, more comfortable temperature
Infrared typically sits between 45–60°C, making it easier to stay in longer without feeling overwhelmed.

  • Deeper-acting heat
Instead of heating the air, infrared warms the body directly—allowing deeper penetration into muscles and joints.

  • Gentler on breathing
No steam, no pressure on the lungs, and no suffocating heat.

  • More targeted therapeutic benefits
With multiple wavelengths and built-in programs, you can tailor each session based on your goals—relaxation, recovery, detox, sleep support and more.

This makes infrared an excellent option for people who find traditional saunas too hot or uncomfortable.

FAQ

  • Our infrared sauna typically sits between 45–60°C, which is much gentler and more comfortable than a traditional sauna. This makes it ideal for beginners or anyone who finds intense heat overwhelming. You can start at a lower temperature and gradually increase it as your body adjusts — there’s no pressure, and you’re in full control of your comfort.

  • Unfortunately not, but don’t worry, you can still use the salt room & compression boots

  • Light, breathable clothing or swimwear. BYO towel preferred, but we do have some here if you forget.

  • Sessions are usually 30 or 45mins (or somewhere in between if you are doing preset program)

  • This is up to you and the goals of your sauna. Some people like a weekly sauna to relax, others like a couple of sessions a week for detox & recovery and some people like to just treat themselves every once in a while :)

  • Many people with sensitive skin or mild circulation issues find infrared heat comfortable because it’s gentle and lower in temperature. If you have a medical condition, it’s best to check with your doctor first, and we can always adjust the heat to suit your comfort.
